The mag should be inserted with the rounds facing toward the folded edge of the carrier, not toward the retention screw.
If you intend to carry your spare mag AIWB, we recommend an extended length carrier like the Koala from Dark Star Gear.

Purchased the G9 & S15 mag carriers. Nicely constructed and finished. Inner hooks on the metal clip is really rough on my belts but VERY secure. The G9 holds the magazine securely but the S15 not so much. Tightening the tension screw doesn’t help.

I bought this specially for a Single Officer Active Shooter Response class…the class was very physical with a lot of moving around both on our feet and on the ground. The mag pouch performed perfectly with no issues…just the right amount of tension to keep the mag in place but still allow a smooth draw!

Construction is excellent and the DCC double clip is probably overkill for this application (not for use on a leather belt or it’ll tear it up). However, I’ve moved on from this mag carrier because it simply doesn’t sit low enough inside the waistband, which causes the top of the magazine to tilt far forward if carried in the appendix position. It’s probably fine for carrying at 3:00 or 9:00 positions, though. I needed something that will sit the magazine deeper. Summary: If you plan to carry your magazine at the 3:00 or 9:00 positions, this will likely work for you. If you desire to carry your extra magazine at the 1:00-2:00 or 10:00-11:00 positions (appendix), this may not be the right mag pouch for you.
